Introduction

MyParentHQ is a mobile application operated by MyFamilyHQ LLC ("we," "our," or "us"), a Pennsylvania limited liability company. MyParentHQ is a caregiver Command Center designed to help adult children and family caregivers organize information about an aging parent's life — including health information, emergency contacts, care notes, and more.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the MyParentHQ mobile application ("the App"). It also explains your rights with respect to your information and how to contact us with questions or requests.

By downloading, installing, or using MyParentHQ you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

MyParentHQ is available globally to English-speaking users. We are committed to protecting your privacy regardless of where you are located. Where applicable, this policy addresses the requirements of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other applicable privacy frameworks.


1. Important Disclaimers

Please read this section carefully before using MyParentHQ.

1.1 Not a Medical Device or Medical Record System

MyParentHQ is an organizational tool for caregivers. It is not a medical device, electronic health record system, or clinical information system. The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Nothing in the App should be construed as medical advice.

Information stored in MyParentHQ has not been verified, validated, or certified by any medical authority. It is entered by users and reflects only what users choose to enter. MyFamilyHQ LLC makes no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information stored in the App.

1.2 User Responsibility for Accuracy

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and currency of all information you enter into MyParentHQ. MyParentHQ does not verify, validate, or independently confirm any information you enter. We strongly encourage you to:

1.3 Hospital Mode and Emergency Packet Disclaimer

The Hospital Mode and Emergency Packet features are designed to help caregivers quickly surface organized information in emergency situations. These features display information that you have entered into the App. MyFamilyHQ LLC expressly disclaims any responsibility for clinical decisions made by healthcare professionals based on information displayed through these features. Information displayed:

1.4 Account Security Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your MyParentHQ account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to use a strong, unique password, not share your login credentials, notify us immediately at hello@myparenthq.com if you suspect unauthorized access, log out of your account when using shared devices, and keep your registered email address current.

1.5 Access Revocation

Trusted member, caregiver, and viewer access is granted and revoked entirely at the discretion of the account holder. Revocation takes effect immediately. MyFamilyHQ LLC has no obligation to provide advance notice to individuals whose access is revoked. Professional caregivers should not rely solely on MyParentHQ for patient care information.


2. Information We Collect

MyParentHQ is an organizational tool, not a data warehouse. You are the custodian of the information you enter. MyFamilyHQ LLC does not own, sell, or monetize your data.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

This technical information is collected through Google Firebase and used solely for app performance, stability, and security purposes. It is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.


3. How We Use Your Information

MyFamilyHQ LLC does not use your information for advertising. We do not build user profiles for marketing purposes. We do not sell your information to any third party under any circumstances.


4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 With People You Invite

The App allows you to invite individuals at one of three access levels: Trusted Member, Caregiver, or Viewer. Every invitation requires explicit acceptance by the invited individual. No one gains access without your invitation and their active acceptance. There is no auto-accept. Once you grant access, that individual's use of the information they can access is outside MyFamilyHQ LLC's control. You are responsible for inviting only people you trust and for revoking access when appropriate.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

In the event that MyFamilyHQ LLC is acquired, merged, or undergoes a significant business transfer, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

MyFamilyHQ LLC does not sell your personal information. This is an absolute commitment.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in Google Firebase/Firestore, operated by Google LLC. Firebase maintains enterprise-grade security standards used by thousands of applications globally.

5.3 Limitation of Liability for Data Loss

MyFamilyHQ LLC is not liable for any loss, corruption, or unavailability of data resulting from third-party service outages, circumstances beyond our reasonable control, user error including accidental deletion of data, or unauthorized access resulting from a user's failure to maintain account security. We strongly encourage users to maintain independent records of all critical health and emergency information outside of MyParentHQ.

5.4 Data Retained After Account Deletion

When you delete your account, your Google Firebase Authentication credentials and login access are deleted immediately. Your data stored in Google Firebase/Firestore — including parent profiles and all module records — is permanently deleted immediately upon account deletion. However the following may be retained:

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's features.


6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Correction

You can access and update most personal information directly within the App. For assistance contact hello@myparenthq.com.

6.2 Deletion — Right to Erasure

You may delete your account directly within the App under Settings → Account Management → Delete my entire account. Account deletion is immediate and permanent — all parent profiles and associated module records are deleted at the moment of confirmation and cannot be recovered.

If you are unable to access the App, contact hello@myparenthq.com with subject line "Account Deletion Request" and we will process your request and confirm deletion by email. Note that certain data may be retained as described in Section 5.4.

6.3 Data Portability

6.4 Withdrawal of Consent

You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting hello@myparenthq.com.

6.5 Access Management

You retain full control over trusted member, caregiver, and viewer access at all times. You can revoke access at any time directly within the App. Revoked individuals lose access immediately.

6.6 Opt-Out of Communications

You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contacting hello@myparenthq.com. Transactional communications essential to the App's functionality cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

6.7 Keeping Your Contact Information Current

You are responsible for keeping your registered email address current. Notice sent to the email address on file constitutes valid notification regardless of whether it was received.


7. California Residents — CCPA Rights

To exercise CCPA rights contact hello@myparenthq.com with subject line "CCPA Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days.


8. International Users — GDPR and Global Privacy

8.1 Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

8.2 International Data Transfers

Your data is stored in Google Firebase infrastructure. Google complies with international data transfer requirements including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). By using MyParentHQ you acknowledge that your information may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States.

9. Children's and Minors' Privacy

9.1 Children Under 13

MyParentHQ is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older. The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 and MyFamilyHQ LLC does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in accordance with COPPA. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it within 30 days and terminate the associated account. Contact hello@myparenthq.com with subject line "COPPA Request" if you believe we have collected information from a child under 13.

9.2 Minors Ages 13 to 17

MyParentHQ is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to create accounts or use the App. By creating an account, you affirmatively represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

9.3 Health Information Entered About a Minor

By entering information about a minor into MyParentHQ, you represent and warrant that you are the parent, legal guardian, or an individual with lawful authority to organize, store, and share health and care information about that minor, and that your use of the App in connection with that minor complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.


10. Third-Party Links and Services

MyParentHQ may allow you to store patient portal reference information. The App does not connect to, access, or retrieve information from any third-party patient portal systems. MyFamilyHQ LLC is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party services you may access independently.


11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MYFAMILYHQ LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: loss or corruption of data stored in the App; clinical outcomes resulting from reliance on information displayed in Hospital Mode or the Emergency Packet; unauthorized access resulting from failure to maintain account security; misuse of information by an invited trusted member, caregiver, or viewer; service interruptions or outages of third-party infrastructure including Google Firebase; or any damages arising from reliance on user-entered information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.

IN NO EVENT SHALL MYFAMILYHQ LLC'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO MYPARENTHQ IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY AND YOU MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.


12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Privacy Policy and any disputes arising from it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

12.1 Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal dispute resolution, you agree to contact us at hello@myparenthq.com and give us 30 days to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

12.2 Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute arising out of or relating to this Privacy Policy or your use of MyParentHQ shall be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify. Arbitration shall take place in Pennsylvania or via remote hearing.

12.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AND MYFAMILYHQ LLC AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.

12.4 Jurisdictional Exceptions

In jurisdictions where mandatory arbitration or class action waivers are not enforceable, disputes shall be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.


13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

When we make material changes we will notify you by sending an email to the address associated with your account and displaying a prominent notice within the App. Your continued use of MyParentHQ after receiving notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.


14. State-Specific Privacy Rights

14.1 Consumers in Covered States

In addition to the options described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, you may have privacy rights under the law of the state in which you live. This section describes the rights of consumers in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

14.2 Washington and Nevada — Consumer Health Data

MyParentHQ may collect the following categories of Consumer Health Data that users choose to enter: individual health conditions, diagnoses, and medical history; prescription medications, dosages, and schedules; allergies and adverse reactions; and care notes and health observations.

We collect and use Consumer Health Data solely to provide the App's features. We do not use Consumer Health Data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the App. MyFamilyHQ LLC does not sell Consumer Health Data.

Washington and Nevada residents may submit Consumer Health Data requests by emailing hello@myparenthq.com with subject line "Consumer Health Data Request."

14.3 Do Not Track

MyParentHQ is a mobile application and does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals from browsers. We do not track users across third-party websites or services for advertising purposes.

14.4 Artificial Intelligence

MyParentHQ does not use artificial intelligence or machine learning to process, analyze, or make decisions based on your personal health information. No user data is transmitted to any AI service or model. There is no third-party AI at runtime in the App.

14.5 Hospital Mode and Emergency Packet — Third Party Viewing

When you activate Hospital Mode or share the Emergency Packet with a clinician or other third party, the information displayed is viewed by individuals who are not bound by this Privacy Policy. You are responsible for deciding what information to enter into the App and when to activate these features.

14.6 Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, MyFamilyHQ LLC will notify affected users as soon as reasonably practicable and in accordance with applicable law, generally within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach. Notification will be sent to the email address associated with your account.

14.7 Non-Discrimination

MyFamilyHQ LLC will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
